M-500
The M-500 is an “intelligent” electronics set which converts the
analog output from a wide range of uncooled and cooled focal plane
arrays to analog and digital video. On board processing
permits video capture, video trip wires, radiometry and more.
Instant-on operation is available for many uncooled FPAs using
patented algorithms. The system
consists of three boards: a main system board, a power board and a
customizable FPA interface board. Efficient analog design
enables the FPA to be mounted away from the processing boards using
an inexpensive ribbon cable. This mounting flexibility, small
size and low power make the M-500 electronics ideal for battery
operated and space constrained imaging systems where
lower-performing volts-in/video-out options are not enough.
The M-500 electronics set offers multiple communications options,
numerous configurable digital and analog I/O ports and can operate
focus and calibration motors. Operating at a standard 12V, the
M-500 typically consumes about 2 watts of power.
The FPA
interface is generic in nature, providing a range of standard analog
and digital inputs, temperature feedback and TE cooler drive
outputs. The FPA interface board customizes the electronics to
the FPA of choice while a common back-end permits a standard PC
command and data interface for a suite of cooled and uncooled
products.
